Our History

When your destiny, calling and purpose meets encouragement, support and wisdom. After attending a Child Abuse and Neglect Conference, Founder, Regina Coleman was given confirmation from GOD that her purpose was to go and be a blessing to other women. To share her story of how she survived physical child abuse, forgave her mother after 19 years of hurt and set out on a journey to be completely healed…inside and out. She wanted to do more, give more and be more by sharing her experience and showing other women the power of prayer and how GOD will bless you with the desires of your heart. She wanted to create a platform that would help women experience healing, forgiveness and faith after experiencing trauma. As an active member of Rose of Sharon C.O.G.I.C. she knew there was no better person to share her excitement with than her Pastor, Ronald L. Griffin. It was his leadership, guidance, support and wisdom that gave her the confidence to trust GOD, stand on his promises and take a leap of faith. She called him one night to discuss her vision, not knowing that GOD was already working it out. Pastor Griffin agreed that women needed to be uplifted in a mighty way. He gave his blessing, told her to go forth and do GOD’s work and empowered her to take the name “Saving Our Sisters” (a name previously developed for a ministry within the church) and make it her own. Because her motivational speaking platform was called To Know my Truth the two were combined and Saving Our Sisters by Knowing My Truth was birthed. Regina started reaching out to family and friends that she knew loved GOD and had overcame their own traumatic experiences. People who believed in her vision and had a passion to help others. From this she was able to develop an Executive Board comprised of STRONG, EDUCATED and HARDWORKING WOMEN and together they strive to Save Our Sisters!!
